Privacy policy

This is a translation for convenience. The German version is legally binding.

We are not legally required to appoint a data protection officer and have not done so.

2. Hosting

This website is hosted on a web hosting package provided by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin. Data is processed exclusively in data centres within the European Union. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing our services securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3. Server log files

When you visit our website, our web server automatically processes information transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, referrer URL, amount of data transferred, HTTP status code, browser and operating system. This is technically necessary to deliver the website and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are created by STRATO, which anonymises IP addresses. They are available to us for a maximum of six weeks.

4. Encryption

For security reasons this website uses encrypted connections (TLS) only.

5. Contacting us

If you contact us by email or phone, we process your details (e.g. name, contact details, content of your enquiry) to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete the data once it is no longer required and no statutory retention obligations apply.

6. Local storage in your browser

We only store your choice of light or dark theme and your consent decision regarding web analytics in your browser's local storage. This is strictly necessary for the functions you request (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).

7. Web analytics with Google Analytics 4

If you consent via our banner, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded. We use it to understand how our website is used and to improve it. Google Analytics processes online identifiers (cookie IDs), device and browser information, approximate location, pages viewed and interactions; full IP addresses are not stored. Google signals and advertising features are disabled. The cookies “_ga” and “_ga_*” are stored for up to two years.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG), which you can withdraw at any time via “Privacy settings” at the bottom of the page. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision, Art. 45 GDPR). Analytics data is deleted automatically after 14 months.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. Simply contact info@nfengineering.de.
