HIL test benches
Design, build and commissioning of hardware-in-the-loop test benches for control units – including instrumentation, interfaces and documentation.
A hardware-in-the-loop test bench tests a real control unit in a replicated environment. Functions, fault reactions and edge cases can be verified reproducibly – long before the complete system is available and without risk to machine or people.
We support you from the first requirement to the running test bench, combining instrumentation, control engineering and software with a mechanical engineer’s view of what ultimately has to work in the field.
How we work
- 01
Requirements & concept
We clarify test scope, interfaces and constraints and turn them into a robust test bench concept.
- 02
Build & integration
Instrumentation, device under test and software are brought together – with clearly documented interfaces.
- 03
Commissioning & validation
We commission the bench and demonstrate that it measures what it is supposed to measure.
- 04
Handover & support
Documentation, training for your team and, if required, ongoing support and extensions.
Frequently asked questions
What is a HIL test bench?
A hardware-in-the-loop test bench connects a real control unit to a replicated environment. Sensors, actuators and communication partners are simulated or replaced by instrumentation, so functions and fault cases can be tested reproducibly and without risk to machine or people.
Can you extend existing test benches?
Yes. Adding instrumentation, interfaces or automated sequences to an existing bench is often more economical than building a new one. We assess what is there and propose sensible next steps.
