Challenge

A research project aimed to make information from a ship’s automation system, the positions of crew and passengers and the management of emergencies available in one central place.

Approach

The focus was on normalising information and efficiently managing partly highly dynamic data on an embedded system. Concepts were agreed with the project partners and implemented with OPC UA.

Outcome

Centrally available, normalised information as the basis for emergency management on board.
